Danny John-Jules, 58, and Amy Dowden, 27, were voted out of Strictly Come Dancing 2018 by the judges after performing in the dance-off against Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse on Sunday night.
The star’s exit came after they admitted things got a “little intense” during their dance rehearsals. Now the Red Dwarf actor has opened up about his dance “nemesis” as he spoke about his
training on The Telegraph’s podcast Talking Strictly. Host Rachel Ward asked Danny: “What is your dance move nemesis?” The star replied: “The nemesis for my dance move would probably be the
kick in the Jive.” Explaining the move, he continued: “It has to be very precise where the knee comes up in between each move. “That one there was really the one that done me in.” Danny
added: “I think in ballet terms they call it Retiré, you can check that with Darcey [Bussell].” Praising him, Rachel added: “You’ve got all the vocab.” “I’ve had to learn it,” Danny replied.
“It’s a nightmare, it’s like being at university." Talking about his professional partner, Danny added: “Amy the Welsh fire I call her.” Following his exit from the BBC One
competition, the actor was expected to appear on spin-off It Takes Two last night. But Danny was absent from the show with Amy being the only one on the sofa to chat to Zoe Ball. The
presenter explained to BBC Two viewers: “Danny has decided not to join us tonight.” Amy got emotional as she spoke to Zoe about her time on Strictly Come Dancing with Danny. She said of her
performance with the star: “I was super emotional last night. I told myself I’m not gonna cry tonight!” Amy went on: “I’m somebody whose glass is always half full. “We did some amazing
performances - I got my first 10. “It’s a dream job and I’m very, very lucky to have the opportunity and do you know what? I got further than last time!” _STRICTLY COME DANCING 2018
