Former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin stars in the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! which began on Sunday. The journalist, who left her post as Dan Walker’s

co-host in September joins a star-studded lineup which includes ex-footballer David Ginola and fellow TV presenter Richard Madeley. Ant and Dec will take the celebrities back to North Wales’

Gwrych Castle for the second consecutive year. Coronavirus restrictions meant last year’s series could not take place in the Australian jungle, instead of taking the campmates to the

200-year-old ruined castle. The celebrities taking part will face a much tougher challenge compared to last year’s group, the show’s Executive Producer Olly Nash confirmed. Speaking to the

media from the castle, Mr Nash said: “The trials were limited last year and this time they are much closer to the Australian series in terms of scale. “Absolutely they are harder and bigger,

and there are more trials over the series than ever before and more triallists taking part.” READ MORE: ROD STEWART 'DISRESPECTFUL' BEHAVIOUR AT REMEMBRANCE FESTIVAL Louise

admitted to watching several hours of the gruesome eating challenges ahead of going on the show, which she admitted she “shouldn’t have done”. While still working for the BBC last year,

Louise interviewed Kate, Duchess of Cambridge at the launch of the Beeb’s Tiny Happy People scheme - an initiative which aims to develop children’s communication skills. Kate had teamed up

with the project, and spoke to Louise about the struggles she had had with homeschooling during the first coronavirus lockdown. As many parents will be able to relate to, the Duchess

admitted she would be “exhausted” at the end of each day, having had to become a teacher, hairdresser and mum all in one. Louise quickly responded: “Do you know what? I actually did but I

can’t say on camera.” Louise does a lot of work for children and children’s charities. She is a supporter of SOS Children’s Villages, an international orphan charity that provides homes and

mothers for orphaned and abandoned children. She also supports the charity Missing People, which provides support for missing children, vulnerable adults and families left in limbo. She

enjoys a very close relationship with her own daughters and will have a close reminder of them as the one luxury item she is permitted to take into Gwrych Castle. Louise suffers from

Raynaud’s Syndrome, which affects blood circulation to fingers and toes.  When cold or stressed, fingers and toes may turn white or blue and go numb. Symptoms can last for hours and can be

incredibly painful. Louise’s luxury item takes this into account. She told The Sun this week: “I’m really delighted with my luxury item. “I have brought with me a fluffy hot water bottle

that actually belongs to my daughter. “So not only is it going to be very helpful to keep me warm, but it’ll also remind me of home.” She confessed she will try to be the “diplomat” in the

Castle as she “really hates conflicts”. I’M A CELEBRITY… GET ME OUT OF HERE! BEGAN ON SUNDAY. IT AIRS DAILY AT 9PM ON ITV.
