There have been some huge stars in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe over the last decade. And now Twilight lead Kristen Stewart has revealed she was told she could have had a role in a big
comic book movie if she stopped holding hands with her girlfriends in public. Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar, the 29-year-old said: “I have fully been told, ‘If you just like do yourself a
favour, and don’t go out holding your girlfriend’s hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie'. I don’t want to work with people like that.” The bisexual star continued: “I was
informed by an old-school mentality, which is – you want to preserve your career and your success and your productivity, and there are people in the world who don’t like you, and they don’t
like that you date girls, and they don’t like that you don’t identify as a quote-unquote 'lesbian', but you also don’t identify as a quote-unquote 'hetero-sexual'. “And
people like to know stuff, so what the f**k are you?” Despite this, attitudes in Hollywood appear to be changing, with next year’s The Eternals to feature the MCU’s first openly gay
character. Marvel boss Kevin Feige teased: “He’s married, he’s got a family, and that is just part of who he is.” The Marvel epic is now the fastest-selling digital download film of all
time. This new record was broken by Bohemian Rhapsody in February with a whopping 265,000 UK downloads in just eight days. However, Avengers Endgame – the highest-grossing movie of all time
– has now topped that with 335,400 in its first week in the Official Film Chart, debuting at No 1. _AVENGERS ENDGAME IS OUT NOW ON DIGITAL AND PHYSICAL HOME RELEASE._
