Sega Mega Drive fans have been given a double dose of good news. Following in the footsteps of Sony, Sega has confirmed plans to release its Mega Drive Mini in the west. The miniature
console sports the same design as the original model, and was supposed to make its Japanese debut to mark the 30th anniversary of the Mega Drive. But Sega has since decided to delay the
launch of the Mega Drive Mini, which was pencilled in for a 2018 release. According to Gematsu, the Sega Mega Drive Mini now has a 2019 release date in all regions. Sega decided on a
worldwide release after the response when the console was first announced. The legendary gaming company is also said to be hiring original Mega Drive developers to work on the ports, and
will rethink the design. In the meantime, Sega fans can busy themselves with the Mega Drive Classic collection on Nintendo Switch. Launching this winter, the collection features online
