Food recall warnings are not issued very often but they should be taken seriously by consumers. Asda, Aldi, Waitrose and Lidl all sell food items that have been recalled due to safety fears.
ASDA AHMED MANGO PICKLE IN OIL P & B (Foods) Ltd has recalled food items as they contain mustard that is not mentioned on the label. This makes the product unsafe to eat for anyone who
has an allergy to mustard. The affected packs are 330 grams with the batched code 036022 – 281FA and best before date of April 30, 2022. The one kilogram packs with the batch code 034022 –
161FA and best before date of February 28, 2022 are also affected. READ MORE: LIDL URGENTLY RECALLS FOOD SWEETENER Those who have bought any of the affected items can return them to stores
where they will be given a full refund. WAITROSE WAITROSE & PARTNERS EASY TO COOK PORK AND CHORIZO BURGERS The burgers have been recalled as they contain egg, which is not listed on the
packaging. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) website states: "This product contains egg making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg." DON'T
MISS The packs that should be returned are 280 grams and all date codes could pose a risk. Anyone who has bought the item can return it to their local Waitrose store for a full refund or
contact Waitrose Customer Care on 0800 188 884 Option 4. ALDI ROOSTERS SOUTHERN FRIED POPPIN’ CHICKEN AND ROOSTERS BREADED POPPIN' CHICKEN The chicken items present the possible risk of
salmonella making them dangerous for customers to eat. "The products listed above may be contaminated with salmonella," the FSA website reads. "Symptoms caused by salmonella
usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps." Point-of-sale notices have been issued to stores and the products can be returned for a full refund. The affected packs are 210
grams with the best before date of May 25, 2022 and batch codes L15320, L14720, L14820, L14920, L15020, L15120 and L16020. LIDL COLOGRAN STEVIA SWEETENER TABLETS (STEVIA VARIANT) Lidl has
recalled the sweetener tablets because aspartame (E951) is not listed as an ingredient. Its presence could cause health problems for those who suffer with phenylketonuria. Packs with 100
tablets and the end date of December 2022 should be returned to the store where they were bought for a full refund. Customers should also look out for packs with the batch codes L 91424 A, L
91424 B, L 91424 C and L 91424 D. The FSA website says: "If you have bought the above product, and suffer from phenylketonuria (PKU), do not eat it. Instead, return it to the Lidl GB
store from where it was bought for a full refund." Food recalls are often issued when a problem is spotted with a product that makes it potentially dangerous for consumers. Products
can also be "withdrawn", which means they are taken off shelves.
