A loss of sex drive is a common problem that affects many people at some point in their lifetime, said the NHS. Everybody’s libido is different, and there’s no such thing as a ‘normal’ sex

drive, it said. But, a loss of libido may be linked to extra stress and tiredness, or even by an underlying medical condition. You could increase your sex drive by making some small diet

swaps. Simply eating more chocolate could help to avoid low libido, it’s been claimed. Eating more chocolate could mimic the same feelings of pleasure as arousal, claimed the Cleveland

Clinic. The best type of chocolate for increasing sex drive are those with high cocoa contents, it said. But, chocolate can contain plenty of added sugar, so it’s important to avoid eating

too much, or risk obesity. “If you’ve lost your libido, never fear — it’s easier to get it back than you think,” said the Cleveland Clinic. “When it comes to quality sex, food plays a part.

The right foods will help keep blood pumping to your sexual organs. “The wrong foods can keep your libido down. For better sex, make better choices. “Consumption of chocolate creates the

same feelings of pleasure that arousal and orgasm do. “Stick with a small amount, and aim for 70 per cent or higher cocoa content. Avoid chocolate with a lot of added sugar.” Chocolate could

also promote the release of some mood-lifting chemicals, including serotonin and phenylethylamine. You could also boost your sex drive by eating more figs, bananas and avocados,

nutritionists have claimed. They each contain vitamins and minerals that may help to increase blood flow to the genitals. Stress, anxiety and exhaustion could all have a major impact on your

overall happiness, including your sex drive, said the NHS. If you’re constantly feeling tired or stressed, it may be worth speaking to your GP or making some lifestyle changes. Your sex

drive could also be impacted by your previous sexual encounters, it added. Ejaculation problems, erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness and the inability to orgasm could all lead to low

libido. Speak to a doctor or psychosexual therapist for advice on the best treatments for low libido.
