Asda has been chosen by NHS England to operate a coronavirus vaccination centre. The vaccination centre will appear in one of its in-store pharmacies in Birmingham and vaccines will be
administered by qualified Asda staff. The George clothing section in the store will be transformed into a vaccination centre and will operate Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm. Roger Burnley,
Asda CEO and President, said: “We are incredibly proud to provide this service and are keen to do all we can to help the NHS and Government accelerate the rollout of the vaccination
programme_."_ Asda has been approved to offer the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine - the most difficult to store of the three vaccines currently approved in the UK. Also the first vaccine to be
approved for use. The supermarket said it's working with NHS England to asses which other sites could be used as vaccination centres. It would also support the use of the

update in an email this morning. He wrote: "It’s crucial that we all play our part, support one another, and help take the pressure off the NHS.” Vaccinations began at seven mass
vaccination centres at the beginning of this week. The centres are located at: * Etihad Tennis Centre, Manchester * Epsom Downs Racecourse, Surrey * Robertson House, Stevenage * Centre for
Life, Newcastle * Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol * Millennium Point, Birmingham * ExCel, London DON'T MISS Boots and Superdrug also announced last week they would be offering coronavirus
vaccines in their stores. From this week, Boots is offering vaccines in stores based in Halifax, Huddersfield and Gloucester. Superdrug is initially offering jabs at five key locations -
Guildford, Leeds, Manchester, Basingstoke and Bristol. The high street health and beauty retailer revealed it would be offering two consultation rooms at each of its locations, including a
portable pharmacy outside. There are three vaccines currently approved for use in the UK - the Pfizer/BioNTech, the Oxford AstraZeneca and the Moderna vaccine. The Moderna vaccine is the
third Covid vaccine to be approved and is said to work in a similar way to the Pfizer vaccine. The UK originally ordered seven million doses of the Moderna jab, but increased this in a bid
to get even more people immunised as quickly as possible. In total, the UK has ordered 367 million doses of vaccines to protect against COVID-19.
