Asda is one of the big four supermarkets that often has deals and offers available for its customers. The ‘big four’ supermarkets include Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. A recent

Which? analysis for the month of June has found Asda to be the cheapest for a trolley load of groceries.  Which? most recent analysis compares prices for a trolley load of 78 items,

including groceries and household essentials.  Lidl and Aldi topped the leaderboard but Asda was the cheapest ‘big four’ supermarket, with the trolley of items costing £80.15. This compares

to upmarket supermarket Waitrose where the trolley full of groceries cost a whopping £111.77. The website says: “Throughout June we checked the prices of 78 items, including own-brand

REVEALED FOR A TROLLEY LOAD OF GROCERIES The website says: “We also compared a shopping trolley packed with 175 items (the original 78 plus 97 more). This included a greater selection of

branded items, such as Branston baked beans and Flash cleaning spray, that aren’t typically available all year round in the discounter supermarkets. “Asda, at £299.78, was by far the

cheapest of the traditional supermarkets. It was a staggering £103.04 cheaper than online-only Ocado - the greatest difference in prices that we’ve seen to date. “Grocery prices at

Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco were similar, with around £12 separating the three supermarkets.” However, overall the trolley prices in Lidl topped the leaderboard for June with a trolley

of 78 items costing just £72.02.  On average, shopped would’ve paid £72.02 at Lidl for a trolley of 78 items, which was narrowly beat by rival Aldi where a trolley load cost just 21 pence

more at £72.23. Lidl and Aldi don't always post every single one of their grocery items online, meaning it can sometimes be hard to compare to other supermarkets. Which? says: “In April

and May we were unable to include Aldi and Lidl as they don’t list all of their prices online and, due to lockdown, we were unable to send researchers into stores and check prices. “But in

June, with lockdown restrictions beginning to ease, we were able to start checking prices in stores again.” PRICES OF A TROLLEY FULL OF 175 GROCERIES AT SUPERMARKETS IN THE UK: * Asda -

£299.78 * Morrisons - £312.38 * Sainsbury’s - £317.99 * Tesco - £324.03 * Waitrose - £367.19 * Ocado - £402.82 Asda also topped the leaderboard for the cheapest supermarket in May too. That

was the third time in a row that Asda topped their table for the cheapest online supermarket.
