Meghan Markle, 36, and Kate Middleton, 36, are both partners of British royal princes – but whom does Queen Elizabeth II, 91, prefer? It seems the answer is revealed in a letter written by

the Queen yesterday approving Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry, 33. While the letter is virtually identical to the one written to approve Kate Middleton’s marriage to Prince William, 35, in

2011, there is a noticeable difference which suggests the Queen favours Kate. In the 2011 letter, the Queen referred to the then engaged couple as: “Our Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince

William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales, K.G. and Our Trusty and Well-beloved Catherine Elizabeth Middleton”. The letter was addressed to the Privy Council to formally approve the pair’s

marriage, giving them the all important royal consent. Yesterday, the Queen’s letter to approve Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding referred to Harry as her “dearly beloved grandson”, just

like in the 2011 letter. It said: “I declare my consent to a contact of matrimony between my most dearly beloved grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan

Markle”. However, Meghan was referred to simply by her full name, Rachael Meghan Markle, with no additional praise such as “trusty” or “well-beloved”. Was this subtle difference meant as a

snub to Meghan? The LA born actress also took second place to the Kate Middleton earlier this week. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were sat a seat behind the Queen and Prince Charles at the

Commonwealth Day ceremony. The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William were sat at the end of the front row in prime position. However, it is believed the reason for this was because Prince

William, who is second in line to the throne, is higher up in the order of succession than Prince Harry.
