The Duchess of York, widely known as Fergie, is known for her flamboyant style and animated character - and the mother-of-the-bride was no different when she arrived at her daughter's
royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October. Sarah, 59, enthusiastically waved to crowds and beamed as she got out of her car and greeted royal fans in Windsor. And now Fergie has told how
she was warned to be "demure" and told not to "go over the top", but couldn't help herself during a rare interview. She told ITV's Good Morning Britain:
"The most extraordinary thing is when I got out of the car everybody said 'oh no go in to the church, be demure, don't go over the top', but you can't, I went
nuts." To which Piers Morgan laughed and said: "You can't, you're Fergie", prompting Sarah to laugh. Sarah also revealed how she was excited to see Jessie Huberty,
who she described as her mother's "best friend", who had flown from America in the crowds when she arrived. The 83-year-old had been a close friend of Sarah’s mother and
attended the Duchess’s 1986 Westminster Abbey to the Duke of York. She was killed in a car crash the Rover 400 she was driving collided with a Renault catering truck on a two-lane highway in
the countryside. She said: “I was thinking of Diana, thinking of my mum. “I was very happy for my friend Diana, who I love, and for my mum and dad. I was very honoured to be invited.” She
added: “Diana would have loved every moment of it, really she would have been so proud.”
