It is believed that the youngest of Kate and William’s children will attend the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony in London on June 8. The Mail on Sunday reports that the youngster could

even ride in a carriage at the historic event, emulating his father William and the Duke of Sussex who attended in an open-top carriage alongside Princess Diana and the Queen when they were

boys. Louis has been photographed by budding photographer Kate on several occasions and was seen most recently at the opening of the Duchess of Cambridge’s garden at the Chelsea Flower Show

alongside siblings George and Charlotte. But, this will be his first engagement as a senior member of the Royal family. Louis’ appearance at 13 months old will be a similar age to his

brother and sister. Princess Charlotte made her first public appearance at the Trooping the Colour event in 2016, while future monarch George was around two when he attended his first

engagements in 2015. It is also believed Meghan Markle will attend her first engagement since the birth of her first child, Archie Harrison, last month after sources suggested she was keen

to attend the Queen's birthday celebrations. Meghan Markle made her Trooping the Colour debut last year, just months after marrying Prince Harry at Windsor Castle in May. The Duchess of

Cambridge attended the event last year just seven weeks after giving birth to Louis so Meghan is understood to be planning an attendance next weekend. The ceremony comes in the wake of

comments made by Donald Trump, who is visiting the UK this week for his first official state visit since becoming President. Speaking ahead of his visit President Trump hit out against the

Duchess of Sussex, saying he “didn’t know that she was nasty” in reaction to comments made by Meghan before she became a duchess. Meghan at the time of Mr Trump's 2016 presidential

campaign said she would leave the US if he won the 2016 election. The Trooping the Colour ceremony dates back to 1748 and will feature some 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians in a

military procession from Horse Guards Parade to Buckingham Palace. It is held in celebration of the Queen’s official birthday. Two guardsmen collapsed during rehearsals on Saturday as

temperatures increased to a sweltering 26 degrees, but temperatures next weekend are expected to be cooler. The troops were set to be inspected by Prince Andrew for the first time as Colonel

of the Grenadier Guards after taking over the role from Prince Phillip in 2017.
