Queen Elizabeth II, 94, usually spends the summer months at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire. While this year’s trip was deemed to be at risk due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Queen is
still expected to leave Windsor Castle for Scotland at some point this summer. When the Queen will make the trip, along with whether she will travel with Prince Philip, 99, remains to be
decided. The royal couple have been isolating at Windsor Castle since March and are both at high risk from COVID-19 due to their age. Speaking on ITV's Royal Rota podcast, producer
Lizzie Robinson said: "There's a lot about the Queen and when she will go to Balmoral." Royal editor Chris Ship added: "Our understanding is she will go to Balmoral where
she spends every summer in the Scottish Highlands." READ MORE: HOW HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE 'MISSED OPPORTUNITY' WITH 'WOKE' SPEECH However, this year it seems
extremely unlikely that she will be hosting any guests at her Scottish hideaway. Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, were reported to have accepted an invitation from the Queen to visit
her and Philip at Balmoral before coronavirus caused a global pandemic. However, given that Meghan and Harry are now settled in Los Angeles with their one-year-old son Archie Harrison, they
are unlikely to travel abroad for the foreseeable future. Despite their step down as senior royals, they were expected back in the UK for family events on several occasions since March.
However, the coronavirus crisis means the Sussexes are unlikely to return to Britain anytime soon. This will come as a huge blow to the Queen, who is known to be incredibly fond of her
grandson. But the lockdown restrictions mean she might miss out on seeing other members of her family too. Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with Prince Charles and Camilla, are close
to the Queen but may not travel to spend part of the summer holidays with her this year following their return to royal duties.
