The Sunday Express can reveal that he has already lined up 28 engagements before the end of November and, as we reported last month, he has told aides: “Please fill up my diary!” Philip, 92,

has so far performed only one engagement – at the Royal Society of Edinburgh on August 12 before he travelled on to Balmoral Castle where he has spent the past week getting to know his

great grandson Prince George. In Edinburgh, he said that it was a “great pleasure to be back in circulation”. Insiders have told how he “can’t stand to be idle” and wants to “get back in the

old routine”. Philip’s “comeback” begins on September 30 when, as patron of the Conservation Volunteers, he will visit the Dersingham Bog Nature Reserve at Sandringham. He will visit the St

Michael’s Care Complex, also in Norfolk, on October 8. The following day he will join the Queen in launching the Queen’s Baton Relay at Buckingham Palace. Later that day he will open a new

fundraising office in London for his Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Then there follows 24 dates added to his diary in the past month. An insider said: “He was delighted to see George for

the first time and is feeling fit as a fiddle. He can’t wait to get out and about meeting people again.” His grandson Peter Phillips, when asked if family members would be telling Philip to

slow down, replied: “Who’s going to be brave enough?”
