The 47-year-old presenter sparked outrage last week when she said: "You must keep your husband satisfied in the bedroom department, even if you’re absolutely exhausted. Otherwise he

will go somewhere else." Speaking on Loose Women today, Davina defended her comments – insisting she was talking about intimacy rather that sex. She explained: "I was asked by the

newspaper ‘what’s the best piece of advice anybody has given you?’ and I’ve had a difficult relationship with my mother and I said ‘my mother once said to me, keep your husband satisfied

because otherwise he’ll shop elsewhere’. The mother-of-three continued: "How I took that to mean was keep intimacy in your marriage and that means him pleasing me too. I keep him happy,

he keeps me happy, we stay intimate but if you lose intimacy for months or a year or whatever then it becomes a thing and it’s hard to get back and that’s when you get in trouble. "I

don’t think it has to be ‘bonking’. I’m talking intimacy." She also denied her comments were submissive, adding: "Anybody that knows me, submissive? I don’t think so." Davina

and her husband Matthew Robertson have been married for 15 years and have three children together – son Chester and daughters Holly and Tilly. The Long Lost Family host told the panel on the

ITV show the couple have a really good relationship. "He looks after me really well and I like to think I look after him really well too but not just in the sack...we care for each

other," she gushed. Amazingly, Matthew remains oblivious to the furore his famous wife has created with her comments and Davina is keen to keep it that that way. She revealed: "If

anyone sees Matthew in London today, please don’t tell him because he doesn’t know. Nothing. I haven’t said anything. He doesn’t know. "He hasn’t read the papers, he doesn’t go on

Twitter, he doesn’t look at my Facebook page, he has absolutely no idea this is happening, he won’t watch this [Loose Women]. Nobody brought it up in our house, it was like nothing happened.

It was amazing."
