The vile aroma is being smelt across the county and in Derby city centre with many speculating on the source. One resident told Derbyshire Telegraph: "I had parked in the car park
behind Bounce Revolution on Siddals Road, when I got out of the car there was a strong smell almost akin to fields being manured. "I didn't think too much of that, but on the walk
down Siddals Road the smell became stronger and more like vomit." While on Twitter Meg wrote: “Why does the whole of Derby smell like rotten egg?” Another wrote: “Probably that
Incinerator on Sinfin lane. I can no longer cycle to work as riding past that place litterly makes me vomit from inhaling the fumes.” And another said: “Stinks around chadd and Morrisons.”
Heather said: “I opened the windows. I can report that Derby smells of vomit this morning. Urgh.” Witnesses say they have smelt it in areas like Silk Mill and Chellaston, as well as the
centre of Derby. And Chris White said: “The #DerbyStink has reached Allestree. I repeat..The #DerbyStink has reached Allestree. This is not a drill people!!!” Tom Clarke, told the Derbyshire
Telegraph: “I recognise the smell from when I was in Lincolnshire, it smells just like liquid manure. “I was on the bus and could smell it from Chellaston all the way here and a lady asked
me what it was - I said liquid manure. “Don’t know where they are spreading it but it smells really bad.” No reports of chemical spills or leaks have been revealed by authorities including
the police and ambulance. One woman told BBC Radio Derby: "When I came out of Derby Royal Infirmary I could smell it there. I can smell it in town. It smells like it's all
sick." The Environment Agency said anyone who wishes to report the smell should ring 0800 80 70 60.
