Brexit-backing Tory MP Sir Bill Cash ripped into Sir Kim Darroch's record for being "strongly committed" to Brussels and the EU. The scathing attack came after the British
ambassador to the US became embroiled in controversy over leaked remarks he made about US President Donald Trump. Sunday reports revealed emails where the ambassador had called the Trump
administration "clumsy and inept". This has sparked a war of words between the two countries, with President Trump lashing out at Sir Kim, while Theresa May defended her
ambassador. Sir Bill Cash, who has been a lifelong Brexit supporter, took aim at Sir Kim's "devotion" to Brussels. He told Sky News" “Kim’s entire career has been
entirely devoted to the EU. “In fact he gave a very important speech in April 2016 before the referendum, explaining why we should remain in the EU." JUST IN: Tory leadership ITV

strong commitment to us staying in the EU and that is worrying. “Many figures in the civil service has had a very tough problem in promoting British interests because they are so embedded in
the idea that we should be in the EU.” President Trump has reacted furiously to the controversy, mocking Sir Kim over Twitter by describing him as a "pompous guy" and a "very
stupid fool." Looking to the future, Sir Bill told Sky News that he backed Tory leadership frontrunner Boris Johnson to repair the relationship with the US. The Tory MP: “Under Boris
Johnson, I hope we will have a close relationship with Trump. “All diplomats in the future should be able to promote those Brexit interests.” This comes after Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross
abruptly canceled a long-planned meeting with Britain's Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox.
