Witty pensioner Evelyn Plummer (played by Maureen Lipman) has rubbed most people the wrong way since arriving in Coronation Street last month. The quick-lipped grandmother has already tried
to scam shop owner Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and got under Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) skin after flopping the pub quiz. But viewers suspect that is just the start of her burning
bridges as fans of the hit ITV drama series are convinced she is keeping a secret from grandson Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall). Mechanic Tyrone opened up his home to Evelyn when she had no
where else to go, however, he could be set for heartache if fan theories are proven right. Circulating on the internet is the notion Evelyn is not really the long-lost grandmother Tyrone had
been searching for. In fact some viewers believe Evelyn could turn out to be Tyrone’s mother, although his biological mother is said to have died. Taking to Twitter to debate the idea, one
person wrote: “I reckon Evelyn will turn out to be Tyrone’s mum after a late marital affair.” Another quipped: “I've got a funny feeling that Evelyn is actually Tyrone's mum and
not his grandmother.” Others questioned if Evelyn was telling the truth about who she is, with one fan asking: “Is Eveyln really Tyrone’s nan?” Two others agreed something felt odd about
Evelyn, adding: “Eveyln is lying,” and “I have a feeling that Evelyn isn’t even Tyrone’s nan.” Someone else said: “Are we actually sure that Evelyn is Tyrone’s real gran?” Acid-tongued
Evelyn took a thinly veiled swipe at Tyrone’s wife Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) in last night’s instalment of the show after meeting his former lover, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon). When
Tyrone and Fiz joined Maria and Evelyn, who was taking her racing hound Sirrus out for a stroll, Evelyn used it as an opportunity to take a dig at Fiz. “You two used to step out did you?”
Evelyn asked Tyrone and Maria, much to the dismay of Fiz, who replied: “I don’t think we need to rake out all that.” Oblivious to his wife’s fury, a naive Tyrone opted to explain the
situation, adding: “Yeah, we were in engaged.” “Yeah, ancient history now though,” Fiz interjected. Adding to the troubles, Evelyn told the husband and wife: "Now that is a beautiful
girl, lovely hair, a lot of style,” after which she gave Fiz a disapproving look. Actress Maureen Lipman, who plays the meddling OAP, recently told ITV’s Lorraine her character is “not
impressed” with Tyrone’s family set up or his spouse. Will Evelyn try to tear Tyrone and Fiz apart? _CORONATION STREET CONTINUE TOMORROW NIGHT ON ITV AT 7.30PM AND 8.30PM._
