New judges entered the X Factor this year, Robbie Williams, Ayda Field and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson. This year the girls are being mentored by Simon Cowell, the groups by Robbie

Williams, the boys by Louis Tomlinson and the overs by Ayda Field. The final will fall this year on Saturday, December 1. The auditions were spiced up this year with the introduction of a

BGT-style Golden X button, which was used during the Six Chair Challenge. It allowed each judge the power to send one act straight through to the Judges’ Houses. Simon also added one more

act to the live shows, so each judge would take four acts, rather than the previous three. He said: “It’s four this year because I just went, ‘What is the downside of having four rather than

three? There’s no downside. “I really did just think there’s no way I can just put three through, I just can’t.” The live shows will be hosted by the one and only Dermot O’Leary, a position

he has held since 2007. WILL THERE BE A WILDCARD ACT? Last year there was a Wildcard twist to the series, with four acts who were previously axed being selected to go through to the live

shows. However as Simon has changed the format this year with each judge taking through four contestants each, rather than three, there are probably no current plans for a wildcard act this

year. The final 16 we will be seeing at the first weekend of Live Shows are: FOR SIMON AND THE GIRLS: Shan Molly Scott Scarlett Lee Bella Penfold FOR ROBBIE AND THE GROUPS: LMA Choir

Misunderstood A Star Vibe 5 FOR LOUIS AND THE BOYS: Dalton Harris Brendan Murray Anthony Russell Armstrong Martins FOR AYDA AND THE OVERS: Gio Spanno Janice Robinson Danny Tetley Ola
