The Archers fans were a frustrated bunch this evening as Helen Archer (played by Louiza Pakitas) struggled to come to a decision on her relationship status. She has been chatting to Lee
(Ryan Early) for weeks and seemed to really like him. But earlier in the week she told gal pal Kirsty Miller (Annabelle Dowler) she was struggling to open up. Poor Helen hasn’t had the
easiest time on the BBC soap as she has famously become unlucky in love. Furthermore, she stabbed her recent husband, Rob Titchener (Timothy Watson) when he was abusive to her and as a
result had to go through a gruelling court case. During yesterday’s episode, Helen told Lee she didn’t think she could go forward in their relationship. She went for a drink with her
potential lover and said she really liked him, but it was just the wrong time. But their connection was so strong, they ended up talking for hours. Lee wondered what the big deal was and
how she could possibly hang out with him if she didn’t see a future. It seemed to be over but while she arranged a new cow shed, Helen got a call from Lee. He tried one more time to arrange
a meet-up and it seemed Helen was keen. After much deliberation, they settled on a country walk. Helen stopped in her tracks, telling Lee: “Oh wait, our new cows are arriving week after
next. “No wait, let’s do it. It’s a date,” she resolved. Lee sighed with relief, praising Helen for being so spontaneous. And fans were thrilled with the outcome, flocking to Twitter to
share their thoughts on what happened. One said: “Phew! at last #Helen! and DON'T back out!” Another added: “Finally Helen and Lee will be going on a date! And that’s Lee over the
cattle!” A third shared: “At least Helen and Lee share a misunderstanding of the word 'Spontaneous’.” _THE ARCHERS AIRS WEEKDAYS ON BBC RADIO 4 AT 7PM. _
