Dancing on Ice, week nine takes place this weekend (Sunday, March 3) on ITV at 6pm. For another week, the remaining four celebrities will compete in the semi-final hoping to skate into the
final. Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton was the latest contestant to leave the competition and Wes Nelson and James Jordan are rivals to be crowned the Dancing on Ice winner. Read on to hear
what the experts are saying. WILL JAMES OR WES WIN DANCING ON ICE 2019? Strictly professional James Jordan and Love Island star Wes Nelson have been the favourites to win Dancing on Ice 2019
since the competition started back in January 2019. Joining them in the semi-final this Sunday are Westlife’s Brian McFadden and X-Factor’s Saara Aalto. Over the past few weeks, they have
been neck and neck to be crowned the winner by the bookies. They have also been very close on the Dancing on Ice leaderboard. On Sunday, Wes and his partner Vanessa Bauer scored 42.5 for
their performance to Treasure by Bruno Mars. He even scored the first 10 of the series from skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean. Even Jason Gardiner gave him a score of nine
and Ashley Banjo are a score of 9.5. James and his partner Alexandra Schauman were close behind with a score of 40.5 for their performance to (Meet) The Flintstones. However, no 10’s were
awarded for their performance and the highest score was 9.5 awarded by Jayne. GEMMA COLLINS BEST MOMENTS ON DANCING ON ICE At the moment, Wes and Vanessa are looking to be the favourites to
win the competition at odds of 1/2 across the board. James Jordan and his partner, Alexandra Schauman closely behind Wes at odds of 5/2. Jessica Bridge from Ladbrokes told Express.co.uk:
“Wes Nelson remains streets ahead of his Dancing on Ice rivals according to Ladbrokes. “The former Love Island contestant now finds himself at just 2/5 to be crowned as this year's King
of the Ice, with James his only serious contender for the title who's fancied at 5/2 with the bookies.” Alex Apati of Ladbrokes added: “He's headed the betting from the offset and
Wes' odds of winning are only shortening with the final fast approaching.” Brian (16/1) and Saara (20/1) seem unlikely to cause a shock as the outsiders of the semi-finalists. Jessica
Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Wes has been the favourite to win since day one, and at this stage, it's going to take one hell of an upset to see him miss out on the trophy.”
Ladbrokes' latest odds are: * Wes 2/5 * James 5/2 * Brian 16/1 * Saara 20/1 WHO ARE THE SKATING PROFESSIONALS? Express.co.uk spoke to former Dancing on Ice choreographer Stephanie
Wallace-Carr to find out her opinion. Stephanie believes James, Wes and Brian will make it to the final of Dancing on Ice next weekend. She said: “I think Wes Nelson might win he has so much
natural charisma whilst his performances are energetic and entertaining. “I feel like he always gives 110% and is fearless which I believe is essential to get the best out of a skater. The
British public also really like him, so I think he has a great chance of winning.“ She also added: “I think Wes gets the votes of the teenage girls, he’s popular amongst the ladies. “Love
Island is one of the biggest shows on TV right now that can only help with his popularity, and he is a good skater. Ok, and it also helps he is so good looking!” WHO ARE THE DANCING ON ICE
COUPLES? Wes has come into the competition with no skating or dancing background, apart from impressing viewers with his dancing moves on Love Island 2018. On the other hand, James is a
former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer and has received some criticism from fans, claiming he is at an unfair advantage. Defending James, Stephanie said: “I do think having a dance
background gives you an advantage on a show like Dancing On Ice. “However, being on skates on ice is a completely different ball game and you either take to it or you don’t. I think being
trained as a dancer will give you core and overall muscle strength that will enhance and help contestants perform the challenging routines. “I don’t think it’s unfair, as I think having
trained dancers on the show provides entertainment and gives the audience variety.” Speaking previously to Express.co.uk, Linda Lusardi, a former contestant on Dancing on Ice and former
glamour model confessed James Jordan is her winner. She said: “Hands down! My winner is James Jordan. He is amazing. Plus being a professional dancer, his lines and shapes are actually
better than some of the professional skaters. “He couldn’t skate to start with but being fit, fearless and having the ability to take on choreography, it has easily helped him to learn more
quickly.” Linda also believed Wes will make it to the final alongside James. Fans of James and Wes will have to keep voting for their favourite skater when Sunday comes around. _DANCING ON
