Jamie Fraser star Sam has shared footage of the first day back on the set of the Starz's drama Outlander season five. He showed off details of props, costumes and scenery from the set


of the series, which also airs on Amazon Prime, on his Instagram story. As filming began in Scotland, Sam showed off Jamie's latest wardrobe, which has changed as the couple settle in


the US. Also in the first-look, Sam revealed a prop gun which Jamie may have to use as the American Revolution approaches. Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Fraser, has also been proactive


in satisfying fans during Droughtlander with a series a Instagram posts. She posted a photo of herself carrying the Outlander season five, episode one script and teased fans with a glimpse


of it. She captioned her post: “Mum’s the word on what’s inside … but here it is episode one season five.” Previously to that, she posted a video showing exclusive behind-the-scenes footage


of one of the rooms used in the set. She introduced the video as: “And so it begins....... Season five (yep that’s one, two, three, four.. FIVE) prep time!!!! “Excuse the shrill shouting but


I was very very excited to catch @jongarysteele on the incredible new set he and his team of genius artisans have built!!! Get READY!!” Fans have loved the snippets of Outlander life while


they mourn the absence of their favourite show. One Twitter fan loved his snippets of filming: “You are simply the best. Thank you for the terrific Instagram story today! Droughtlander has


already seemed so long.” Another added: “Thank you so much for keeping the Outlander fans a part of the first day of filming season five. We are all excited to see the results. Makes the


Droughtlander more bearable.” He has previously teased fans on his Twitter about the prospect of season five: “#Droughtlander UPDATE. Have read several scripts for S5! You won’t be


disappointed! Can’t wait to get started.” Sam has thrived in the role and is clearly loving every minute of the journey own the show. He revealed: “When I was asked to audition for the TV


adaptation, I didn’t realise how popular Diana’s books are. "Thousands of fans come to Scotland each year, visit our locations and try to immerse themselves in our world. “Outlander has


not just changed my life, it’s hugely affected Scotland too, seeing our culture and heritage celebrated around the world.” Fans cannot wait for two of their favourite stars to take a bigger


role in moving the series on and providing unforgettable moments for its diehard fans. The time-travelling drama will continue to follow the Frasers with their life in North Carolina,


especially since their daughter Brianna Randall Fraser (Sophie Skelton) gave birth to her first child in the finale. Sam has already claimed season five will test the resolve of the Fraser


family as they deal with the coming American Revolution, as well as face Jamie having to create an army to fight the rebellious regulators. The CEO of Starz Chris Albrecht said: "Fans
