The Walking Dead newcomer Dante (played by Juan Javier Cardenas) appeared in the first episode of season 10 titled ‘Lines We Cross’ where he took up the role as one of Alexandria’s doctors

alongside Siddiq (Avi Nash). Fans quickly grew suspicious of the pair of them. However, no one could have anticipated what was to come. Fans had long suspected that either Dante or Siddiq

would soon be revealed as a secret Whisperer. However, all was revealed in the chilling scene in ‘Open Your Eyes’, which revealed Dante to be a Whisperer. In a haunting flashback, it was

revealed that Dante was the one who made Siddiq watch as his friends were beheaded by Alpha (Samantha Morton). He then of course, killed his friend, ending the life of Siddiq one and for

all. READ MORE: THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 10: SIDDIQ STAR TELLS FANS MOVE ON FROM CARL However, the plot came as a huge surprise to the Dante star, as he was convinced he was on track to

fulfil his role as portrayed in Robert Kirkman’s comic books. Now, the star has spoken out about the shock character arc, revealing he only learnt his fate once filming had begun. Speaking

on Skybound’s Talk Dead to Me podcast, Juan began: “It was definitely one of those quintessential, ‘Hey, welcome to The Walking Dead’ moments as an actor. “What happened was, coming into

this season, the information was really parcelled out to me. You’re on a ‘need to know’ basis. However, this all fell to pieces after he was pulled for a chat with show director Greg

Nicotero. Juan added: “He’s like, ‘Hey man, let me get you. Has anybody spoken to you about kind of what you’re gonna be doing this season?’” “I go, ‘No, but I’ve read this and that, and I

feel like I’m really prepared. I understand kind of where I’m going right now, so I’m feeling pretty good about it.’ “And he goes, ‘Yeah… why don’t you step off set for a second, take a

five-minute walk with me?’ And he revealed the general arc of what the character was, and he revealed all of the ulterior motives of the character, and really the true face of who this

person was, in about a ten-minute pep talk on the streets of Alexandria. It was fantastic.” Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Lydia star Cassidy McClincy was left tearful in real life

after an emotional heart-to-heart scene with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) about their abusive childhoods. In episode four of the new season titled Silence The Whisperers, Daryl’s protective

instincts really kicked in as she opened up about the abuse she suffered while growing up being brainwashed by Alpha. Recognising her scars in his own abusive childhood, Daryl pulled her in

for a hug. However, according to “The Walking Dead Facts and Easter Eggs”, Cassidy wasn’t expecting this, and the moment left her feeling emotional in real life. As a result, she had to walk

away and take a break in order to compose herself after the director cut the scene. _THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 10 CONTINUES SUNDAY ON AMC AND MONDAY ON FOX UK._
