Netflix series Indian Matchmaking comes after the success of reality dating shows Love Is Blind and Too Hot To Handle. Indian Matchmaking puts the spotlight on the world of South Asian
arranged marriages with professional matrimonial expert Sima Taparia helping singles find love. Indian Matchmaking followed Taparia’s efforts to find prospective spouses for their clients’

the South Asian community looking to get married, there was some focus on others hoping to walk down the aisle once more. One of these was American-Indian woman Rupam, who was divorced and
already had a daughter. Matchmaker Taparia said it would be tough for Rupam to find a man willing to marry her due to her circumstances. She was warned her daughter could be a big turn-off

However, Taparia did manage to find some men who were willing to meet with Rupam to see if they could be a possible match. While Rupam was open to meeting them, she actually ended up meeting
someone on dating app Bumble. Her date was a similar situation to her both Sikh and a single parent. She described him as “humble guy”, revealing the pair started chatting on the phone

like you get to know someone really well because you spend so much time talking to them." Rupam said she'd deleted her other online profiles and focus on this one guy. She
reflected: "As a Sikh woman, meeting someone, you know, who sort of understands your life experience and not spending all this time explaining who I am, if a great feeling. "I
don't want to get our hopes up but you know, this is the first time I've met someone where I feel like all the puzzle pieces really fit together." Rupam praised Taparia and
