After offensive comments by David Walliams about Britain’s Got Talent contestants were made public, the judge is said to have stepped down from his role. Now, former winner Perri Kiely has
stated the show “won’t be the same” without the comedian on the judging panel. David was recorded making derogatory comments about contestants on the ITV talent show, in a leaked transcript
to the Guardian earlier this year. The remarks were made in January 2020 and as a result of them being made public, David is reported to have resigned from the show. David has also
apologised for the comments, stating: “I would like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020. “These were
private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.” READ MORE: STRICTLY FANS CONCERNED FOR WILL MELLOR AFTER
'GOODBYE SPEECH' Looking ahead of what future series of Britain’s Got Talent may look like, Perri said it will have a “different vibe”. He explained it will “be different” but
that’s to be expected when a judging line-up changes. “Not necessarily worse - but it will have a different vibe to it, it will be a slightly different path for the show, but the show will
go on,” Perri told The Sun. “"I will always be grateful about the opportunities that have come since we starred on the show.” Following David’s exit from Britain’s Got Talent, Ladbrokes
revealed Mo Gilligan, Axel Blake and Joe Lycett were all in the running to take over as a judge with odds of 6/1. The bookies also installed Iain Stirling as the early favourite to replace
him on the judging panel. They put Piers Morgan returning at 33/1 while former health secretary and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Matt Hancock was ranked at 50/1 for
the job. Speaking on behalf of Ladbrokes, Alex Apati commented "David Walliams' time on the BGT panel is all but up, and our traders judge Iain Stirling to be the most likely name
to replace him as things stand.
