The 66-year-old American writer has now asked people to stop contacting him about the differences to the show and the books, stating that he is little control over what the creative
decisions made by the creators of the HBO fantasy drama. Yesterday he posted a message on his Live Journal account Not A Blog imploring fans to take their ire concerning the most recent
episodes of the programme to fan forums instead of emailing him. George wrote: "Meanwhile, other wars are breaking out on other fronts, centered around the last few episodes of GAME
OF THRONES. It is not my intention to get involved in those, nor to allow them to take over my blog and website, so please stop emailing me about them, or posting off-topic comments here on
my Not A Blog. "Wage those battles on Westeros, or Tower of the Hand, or Boiled Leather, or Winter Is Coming, or Watchers on the Walls. Anyplace that isn't here, actually."
"Yes, I know that THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER named me "the third most powerful writer in Hollywood" last December. You would be surprised at how little that means. "I cannot
control what anyone else says or does, or make them stop saying or doing it, be it on the fannish or professional fronts. What I can control is what happens in my books, so I am going to
return to that chapter I've been writing on THE WINDS OF WINTER now, thank you very much." *SPOILERS* George is busy working on the sixth instalment of his A Song of Ice and Fire
series and is trying to get the novel finished before season six of the show airs next year. The writer has even turned down several public appearances, including this year's San Diego
Comic Con and writing episodes for the HBO series, to complete The Winds of Winter and get it published by 2016. In his blog he also mentioned that he was "wrestling" with the
novel but is also busy on developing three new concepts series for HBO and Cinemax. But on top of that he was hiring for three low-budget sci-fi films and working on another book called High
Stakes. George also revealed this week that he turned down the chance to adapt Game of Thrones to the big screen. It appears that George was referring to the latest episode featuring the
death of Shireen Baratheon, who was burned alive at the stake on her father's commands. The scene hadn't appeared in the books and caused much controversy as fans claimed that the
show had mischaracterised Stannis. However, co-creator David Benioff accidentally let slip during the most recent edition of behind-the-scene show Game of Thrones Season 5: Inside the
Episode #9 that the horrifying scene would be coming up in the books. There have been a number of changes in season five that deviate from the show. The other major one that upset fans was
the rape of Sansa Stark by husband Ramsay Snow that some decried as something only done for shock value. The final episode of Game of Thrones is set to air next week in the UK and will
undoubtedly leave more fans raging. GAME OF THRONES SEASON 5 CONCLUDES ON SKY ATLANTIC AT 9PM ON MONDAY JUNE 15
