The 36-year-old retired midfielder will donate his undisclosed sum to The Jude Brady Foundation, which aims to raise awareness of stillbirth and neonatal death. Kieron became a patron for
the charity a number of years ago, after being introduced to its founder, Peter Brady, by their mutual friend DJ Spooney. The charity is special to Kieron because he lost his brother at the
age of seven to stillbirth. After the former Newcastle player’s kind gesture was announced, founder Peter explained: "Kieron lost his little brother to stillbirth when he was seven, so
it is a charity he holds close to his heart." Peter, who founded the charity with his wife Lynn following the loss of their baby boy Jude in 2006, added he was shocked by Kieron’s
kindness. "He gave us no indication at all. He is a patron of the charity, and has been for a number of years, doing countless things behind the scenes, but this is one that has hit the
headlines," he said. In a heartfelt statement issued before he entered the jungle, Kieron said: "I am very competitive. But I am not going on the show for money. "My fee is
going to a charity. I am doing this show for the charity and my children. 'I'M A CELEBRITY... GET ME OUT OF HERE!' TOP 5 MOMENTS "I am not going on for fame or
recognition. I see the show can revitalise people’s careers but if someone in the camp wants to further their career in the media, I would rather they win than me." He added:
"Obviously if I did win, I’d be over the moon – but it’s not the be all and end all." Kieron is perhaps best known for being a footballer with Newcastle United, where he clocked up
200 appearances between 1999 and 2007. He also represented England on 33 occasions between 1999 and 2007 and was member of the England squads which reached the quarter-finals at the 2002
FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2004. _I'M A CELEBRITY RETURNS THIS SUNDAY AT 9PM ON ITV1. _ GETTY Kieron is best known for playing for Newcastle United
