Nicola Walker takes on the powerful role of Hannah Sterne, the eldest of three sisters. The family business - Defoes - is a divorce law firm which Hannah spearheaded with her mother, Ruth

Defo (Played by Deborah Findlay). But when she left to join a large corporate law firm, a schism was created between Hannah, her mother, and her two sisters Nina (Annabel Scholey) and Rose

(Fiona Button). Rose leads a very different life to her sisters, as she shied away from the family business of divorce. Leading a humble life as a nanny, Rose can be seen trying to keep the

peace between her sisters whilst still being treated as the youngest of the three. Although the series focuses on the luxurious lives of a large group of divorce lawyers it doesn’t dwell on

the money. The show stays solely on the characters, their emotions, and how they interact and deal with complex family situations. This aspect of the show is what Rose actress Fiona thinks

will appeal to viewers. “Our characters are beautifully humanly flawed,” she told press including Express.co.uk. “And I think that there is enough in that that people will warm to [the

characters]. Despite the shiny wrapping of the show the cast are certain that fans will be able to connect with the family - despite them being an extremely wealthy family. Fiona went on to

insist that “the money thing won’t be an issue”. Nicola clarified: “There are very wealthy people in London - and that is where it is set.” “It’s fun to see those places,” Nina actress

Annabel added. “I don’t live in those places myself and I always want to see them.” Annabel also recently revealed that she likes playing the anarchist in The Split. She even explained how

she goes about acting drunk. She said: “I’d much rather be bad or slightly off the rails. “I’m a goody two shoes in real life. I’m head girl.” _THE SPLIT CONTINUES TUESDAY AT 9PM ON BBC
