Fan favourite Jughead (played by Cole Sprouse) was left in a horrible way in the last episode of Riverdale. After striking up a deal with Penny Peabody (Brit Morgan) to meet and bury the

hatchet, Jughead was double-crossed by the former Southside Serpent. Arriving under the guise that their differences would be put aside, Jughead wasted no time in dropping some sarcastic

comments. However he was caught off-guard as the entire Ghoulies gang came out of the woods and proceeded to take him down. After being forced to watch Jughead get beaten and left for dead,

viewers were left with Jughead’s dad, FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich), carrying his limp body out of the forest. With fans unsure whether Jughead will make it through season two’s finale, they also

don’t know if he’ll get through to a third season. However Riverdale’s Instagram account recently posted an image that may have tipped off viewers about next season’s cast. The account

posted an image of Jughead star Cole alongside KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, and Camila Mendes at the CW’s headquarters. The image was captioned: “Order another round of milkshakes! #Riverdale is

renewed for Season 3 on The CW!” With the third season finally commissioned, could Cole’s appearance in the Instagram snap confirm his character’s survival into the next batch of episodes?

It hints that another new member of the Serpents could be on the horizon - and the red-headed character hints that it could be Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch). Considering she has recently

sparked a relationship with Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan), it is likely that she will quickly find her way in to the gang. Joining the crew could be the escape that Cheryl needs, as she is

currently on edge after hearing her mother talk about removing her from the Blossom estate - permanently. But will she get out in time? _RIVERDALE SEASON 2 CONCLUDES TOMORROW ON NETFLIX._
