Chelsea's FA Cup final heartbreak against Arsenal on Saturday is exactly the bump back to ground that many inside the club may have needed following the euphoria of their qualification

into the Champions League. The odds were stacked against Frank Lampard at the beginning of the season as many wrote off Chelsea's top-four chances. The Blues went on to finish fourth

despite starting the campaign under a transfer ban and without star Eden Hazard, who joined Real Madrid. Many youngsters were blooded into the squad and Lampard used some old fashioned

coaching to get the most out of what he had. But not everybody has stepped up to the mark. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has come under fire for his poor form since arriving from Athletic

Bilbao for £71.6m two years ago. Lampard is considering offloading the Spaniard after leaving him out of the crucial final game of the season against Wolves and FA Cup final loss to Arsenal.

The Athletic claim some Chelsea players have also lost confidence in the 25-year-old which may influence Lampard's decision. Although there has been no public criticism, there has

apparently been some questions raised behind the scenes. If the defenders have lost faith in the man between the sticks there might not be any way back. Willy Caballero will remain at

Stamford Bridge next year and provide back-up to whoever Lampard chooses to be his main man. Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak are on the west

Londoners' shortlist but are deemed too expensive. Other options being looked at are Manchester United's Dean Henderson and Burnely's Nick Pope.
