2017 and 2015 - but Europe are determined to utilise home soil this weekend. The players arrived at the beginning of the week and while there were some hiccups - with clubs not arriving on
time and one player dropping out - things are set to get going. There will be some tension among the players as the action gets underway and things are expected to be close this time around.

FORMAT The Solheim Cup is played over 28 matches over three days. Each match is worth a point with the winner needing to reach 14 1/2 points to score victory. Tied matches earn half a point.
The competition finishes level on 14-14 the holders retain the trophy - so in this case the USA would keep it. Like the Ryder Cup there are fourball and foursome matches where teams of twos
play. In fourballs the player who shoots the lowest score wins the points for their team, where in foursomes both players play just one ball taking alternative shots. The competition then
