That is according to mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen. Khabib sparked a brawl between his team and McGregor’s after making the Irishman submit in the fourth round of their lightweight

championship bout. In doing so, the Russian convincingly retained his strap, but the fight was overshadowed by his post-fight pursuit of McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis. The exact reason

why Khabib tried to attack Danis hasn’t been revealed, but Danis did partake in McGregor’s borderline mental warfare in the fight build-up, which referred to Khabib’s religion, father and

country. Ostensibly, it all piled up for the champion and he viscerally jumped out of the octagon to, in his eyes, right some wrongs. ESPN pundit and MMA fighter Sonnen could not excuse

Khabib’s actions, however. “It was a spur of the moment, we’ll certainly forgive him… But to look at this incident tonight - it was absolutely Khabib’s fault,” Sonnen said. “He left the

octagon, that’s a crime… He was sanctioned, he was not licensed, the contest was over. “This was very bad - it shocked me. This was his moment, he was the victim - he was attacked in a bus.

“Khabib had done everything right - he walked out of the press conference, he stood on principle. I don’t understand why he did that.” The bad blood between Khabib and McGregor truly ignited

in April, before the fight was even announced, when the latter and his entourage attacked a UFC bus which Khabib was on. “His business was with Conor McGregor,” Sonnen continued. “Conor

McGregor attacked that bus and Conor McGregor stood in front of him with unarmed license-regulated combat. “They settled their business. Conor McGregor was embarrassed. He had his

heartbroken. Khabib just had to take his belt, walk away get his money. “I do understand why he did it, but that type of rhetoric makes us accept the reasoning, which we don’t.” Meanwhile,

the man at the side of it all - Dillon Danis - has hit social media for the first time following the melee. Danis was the man from McGregor’s camp Khabib went for in the initial brawl on

Sunday morning. UFC fighter Rafael dos Anjos blasted him on Sunday, tweeting: “This guy Dillan Dennis (sic) he is nobody, he just suck Conor’s balls and hide behind him, that’s his job. “He

never going to make it, be on Conor’s corner is his career highlight.” And Danis has hit back, replying: “let’s fight then f**k commissions let’s meet up and fight you p**** little b**** you

give every fight you no heart rat.”
