Holidaymakers may be eager to snap up a bargain today with the launch of an array of flight and package holiday Black Friday deals. Though the sales may already be alluring on first glance,
experts from Skyscanner have suggested there are even more ways to save. Though a slightly different Black Friday is anticipated this year, Skyscanner has identified some travel trends from
previous years in a bid to help holidaymakers secure the best deals. According to Consumer Travel Expert, Jon Thorne: "Flight data from Black Friday 2018, Skyscanner saw that 2pm was
the cheapest time of the day to bag a bargain – a perfect antidote to the post-lunch slump." However, timing is not the only way to bag a bargain. Mr Thorne suggests that
"flexibility" is crucial when it comes to making a saving on flights. READ MORE: EASYJET BLACK FRIDAY 2020: LATEST UPDATE ON CHEAP HOLIDAYS "But if you can afford to be
flexible with your destination or dates, you could bag an even better deal.” It also pays to consider buying flights separately with different airlines, rather than as a return. Mr Thorne
explains: “Mix and matching the airlines you choose to fly with can seriously cut costs. "Fares don’t have to be booked as returns, look at flying out with one airline and back with
another to save money for holiday spending when you’re there.“ He added: "Also if you can consider travelling a day before or a day after your original departure dates, flying on less
popular days of the week is always cheaper.” However, this Black Friday is a little bit different from those gone by in recent years. Following nine months of dramatic rule changes in the
travel industry, the constant uncertainty may have some holidaymakers anxious about booking a deal in the future. Luckily, Mr Thorne says that this shouldn't be too much of a worry. He
points out that many airlines are now offering more flexibility when it comes to cancellations and rebooking flights. "We've made this really easy by highlighting flexible tickets
when searching on Skyscanner which helps you to save on your tickets and be protected should the situation in your origin or destination country change," he states. He added:
"Black Friday 2020 is going to be different to previous years when there were more people searching and booking online, and Skyscanner has created purpose-built pages and search widgets
so that travellers can see the best deals with ease." In previous years, Skyscanner found that some of the top destinations for holiday bookings included New York, Amsterdam, Dubai and
Tenerife.
