Hotel rooms are often a haven for guests to try and steal after their holiday is over. Items such as the free shampoo and conditioner are normally allowed by hotels to be stolen, as they
have already been used. It has recently been revealed some of the most popular items that guests take from a hotel room, with some surprising entries. Despite it being prohibited by hotels
69 per cent of Britons admit to stealing something when they leave. The survey by The Telegraph found that the most popular item to be taken, perhaps unsurprisingly is the towels. A whopping
68 per cent admitted to taking one of the fluffy items home with them, despite the risk that they could be charged for it by hotels. Coming in second at 57 per cent were batteries and light
bulbs, a somewhat confusing item due to them being available cheaply at most supermarkets. Others to make the top ten included food and drink (51 per cent), cutlery (45 per cent) and
picture frames (36 per cent). Another bizarre entry was 27 per cent admitting to taking the curtains of the room. With them rarely being cleaned, guests could be risking taking bed bugs back
to their home by doing this. Some guests may not even realise that they are being filmed in their hotel room. It has previously been reported that hidden cameras can easily be fitted inside
