Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday averred that the infrastructure spending undertaken by the government creates jobs and promotes business. “The multiplier effect kicks in when those
infrastructure projects are ready. Infrastructure leads to tourism and industries,” he said, in his address to the public at the inauguration of 103 Amrit Bharat stations in Bikaner,
Rajasthan.
He also said that the work of the Rajasthan section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which enters the state in the Alwar district and exits the state in the Kota district, has been completed.
The expressway passes through Dausa and Lalsot near Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, and Kota districts of the state, before entering Madhya Pradesh.
The Prime Minister added that more than 40,000 people have adopted the PM Surya Ghar Bijli Yojana. The scheme was launched in the 2024-25 Union Budget, and has an outlay of over ₹75,000
crore, It envisages lighting up one crore households by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month. “This has brought down the electricity bill to zero for people.”
He also inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth ₹26,000 crore in the state. “With the blessings of Karni Mata, our resolve to become a developed economy is growing
stronger. A major mahayajna of modern infrastructure is currently ongoing towards our pursuit of becoming a developed economy,” he said.
According to the Prime Minister, India is currently witnessing a six-fold increase in the development of new infrastructure than before. “The world is surprised by the pace of infrastructure
growth in the country…The Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat, and Amrit Bharat trains symbolise India’s speed of progress,” he said.
