The deadline to link the Universal Account Number (UAN) with Aadhaar has been yet again extended to June 30, 2025. While this may seem like a routine update, failure to comply with the
crucial Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) requirement could have serious implications on your EPF benefits.
The UAN-Aadhaar seeding is a mandatory process that allows EPFO to verify your identity and enable seamless transactions such as claim settlements, PF transfers, withdrawal of PF account,
and e-nominations.
Linking Aadhaar with EPF and UAN also prevents discrepancies and errors in personal data, as all the information will be consistent with the information on the biometric ID. It will further
bring down the chances of having a duplicate account. Once linked, the Aadhaar details will show under the ‘Approved KYC’ tab.
However, if your UAN is not linked with Aadhaar by the cutoff date, you may not be able to make any withdrawals or transfers from your PF account. Inactive accounts could also face delays in
receiving interest.
Employers, too, may not be able to deposit their share of contributions into your EPF account if Aadhaar is not seeded with your UAN. This could affect the continuity of your provident fund
account and long-term retirement savings.

Alternatively, the process can also be completed through the Umang app or at the nearest Common Service Centre by visiting the EPFO office.
With only a few weeks left, it is suggested not to wait until the last minute. Missing the deadline could result in frozen accounts and unnecessary hassles, impacting your financial security
and retirement plans. Ensure your UAN and Aadhaar are linked by June 30 to avail EPF benefits without any hassle.
