Containerships Group making Teesport its U.K. center Containerships Group, Finland's door-to-door short sea carrier, is making the Port of Teesport in the North of England its
operational center for services in the United Kingdom. In the south of the country, Containerships is closing its Felixstowe office on May 31 but will continue to run its London office as
normal. The switch will see an increase from 30 to 42 in the number of trucks operated from Teesport, beginning within the next few months. Containerships is majority-owned by Icelandic
shipping and logistics company Eimskip, and operates nine vessels in the Baltic Sea region serving St. Petersburg in Russia, Klaipeda and Liepaja in the Baltic States, Gdansk in Poland,
Helsinki in Finland, Sodertalje in Sweden, Aarhus in Denmark as well as Hamburg, Rotterdam, Teesport, Tilbury and Immingham in western Europe.
