THREE TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATIONS TO HOLD JOINT CONFERENCE IN 2001

The Airforwarders Association (AFA), the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America Inc. (NCBFAA) and the Air & Expedited Motor Carriers Conference (AEMCC) have

scheduled a joint conference in March 2001.    Representatives from the three transportation groups have been meeting to plan and coordinate activities for the conference, to be held March

4-7 in San Francisco.    The groups, which plan for the conference to be an annual event, said “this combination of air, sea and land transportation organizations will provide the members of

each organization with a tremendous opportunity to network with one another.”    “Our three memberships are faced with similar challenges and by joining together and meeting we hope to

bring fresh perspectives to bear on them as well all strive to meet the needs of our clients,” said Cathy Langham, vice president of AFA) and president of Langham Transport Services.    “It

says a lot about the willingness of the people in our business to look outside the box for ways to improve the services they provide their customers,” said William S. App Jr., a NCBFAA

representative and president of J.W. Allen & Co. Inc.
