ST BOSWELLS LIVESTOCK CENTRE, ROXBURGHSHIRE A larger show of 3,302 spring lambs at Monday’s (1 August) sale met a similar trade to last week, with a top price of 212p/kg paid for a pen of


Texels. Another Texel pen claimed the top price per head of £94, with an overall average of 189.2p/kg which was 0.2p/kg up on the week. Prices for cast ewes fell by £1.52 a head, with 373


lives averaging £80.10, and peaking at £128 for Suffolks. In the cattle ring, bullocks averaged 199.9p/kg (7p/kg up on the week) and topped at 215p/kg. Heifer trade was unchanged at 192p/kg,


with young bull prices dropping by 6p to average 183.3p/kg. Over 30-month beef cattle settled at 138.6p/kg and peaked at 185p.
