A 6m mounted disc drill designed to make small, awkward-shaped fields easier to negotiate has been added to the Horsch range. It can be ordered in one of two formats – the Taro HD use a tyre
packer to level the ground in front of each Powerdisc coulter, so is better suited to working in cloddy conditions, while the SL has a Rollflex steel packer and Turbodisc coulters. Both
require a front hopper to carry seed. See also: Grower’s precision drill is helping combat flea beetle Unladen weight of the drilling unit on the HD is 4,300kg and the firm’s Partner 1,600-
or 2,200-litre front tank helps even out the weight distribution. The seeder comes with either 125mm or 150mm row spacings and a there’s the option of an extra distribution head, which can
electronically block alternate rows to double the spacing. Working speed is slated at 10-20kph and the company suggests pairing it with a tractor of up to 250hp. Prices start at £45,000 and
the drills can be ordered now for delivery at the end of the year.
