_WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FROM THE BETTER SISTER. _ The gripping series The Better Sister has been released in its entirety, with many fans already devouring the full
thriller. Prime Video's adaptation of Alafair Burke's novel, The Better Sister, begins with the shocking murder of Chloe's (portrayed by Jessica Biel) "perfect"
husband Adam. Suspicion initially falls on his son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan), but the plot thickens when Chloe's sister and Ethan's biological mother Nicky (Elizabeth Banks)
makes an unexpected appearance. Here's a detailed look at the events that unfolded in the climactic final episode of The Better Sister. THE BETTER SISTER ENDING EXPLAINED The true
culprit is soon revealed to be Chloe's sister Nicky, who was also once married to Adam. Despite their rocky past, Nicky had reached out to Ethan, hoping to forge a closer bond. In a
revealing conversation, Ethan confides in her about witnessing Adam's physical abuse towards Chloe, prompting Nicky to act, given her own harrowing experiences with Adam's
violence. This article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it. Learn more Prime Video free trial Get 30 days of Prime Video totally free TV

their toxic relationship by taking Chloe away. The confrontation escalates into a violent struggle, with Adam overpowering Nicky against a wall until she manages to draw a knife from her
pocket and fatally stab him. Ethan may not have been the one to kill Adam, but he did contribute to the cover-up when he discovered his father's body and assumed Chloe was the murderer.
In an attempt to shield her, he staged a burglary, rearranging items in the house to suggest a break-in. Chloe also uncovers that Adam had been dishonest about Nicky's alcoholism, when
in fact, he had been drugging her, causing her relationship with Ethan to crumble. Now aware of the full situation, Chloe is determined to prevent Nicky or Ethan from getting into trouble,
so she does everything within her power to protect them. She accomplishes this by uncovering damaging information about Bill Braddock (Matthew Modine), a founding partner at Adam's law
firm. Adam had been serving as an FBI informant and discovered that Bill was privy to shady deals involving human trafficking to secure major construction contracts. Bill's residence
was searched and he was arrested for his crimes, but Chloe also managed to plant the murder weapon in his office, implicating him in Adam's death as well. However, Detective Nancy (Kim
Dickens) wasn't prepared to close the investigation just yet and after speaking with Adam's mother, she realises that Nicky knew details about the murder before the police informed
her. Nicky is resolved to gather more evidence to demonstrate that Nicky was the actual killer, but on her way back to the station, she is informed that she has been suspended. Aware that
Nancy was on the brink of uncovering the truth, she employed her private investigator to dig up information on the detective. She discovered that the detective had previously severely
assaulted an innocent black man in a separate case. Nicky's journalist mate Catherine (Lorraine Toussaint) penned an article highlighting this incident, leaving her superiors with no
option but to suspend her, thus preventing her from further investigating Adam's death. After years of separation, Chloe and Nicky decide to bury the hatchet and rekindle their
relationship along with Ethan, with the final scenes depicting them enjoying quality time together on a beach. However, this wasn't quite the end as one of the concluding shots reveals
Chloe's former lover Jake (Gabriel Sloyer) lifeless on the beach. The cause of his death remains unclear, leaving it as a mystery. He could have been murdered by Bill for collaborating
with the FBI or FBI Agent Olivero, whom he clearly feared. Alternatively, he might have taken his own life, but fans will have to speculate for themselves about what actually transpired.
