Paramount Plus has just added the first season of x with a perfect score. The first three episodes of Wild Cards was just added to the streaming service. Viewers can access it either by

signing up through their own dedicated platform or via an add-on subscription through Amazon Prime Video. Wild Cards is a Canadian police procedural show that definitely does not take itself

too seriously. Think of it more along the lines of High Potential or Castle. Its story picks up to follow demoted detective Ellis, who has spent the last year on the maritime unit.

Meanwhile, Max has been living a transient life elaborately scamming everyone she meets. When Ellis is tasked with transporting Max after she is arrested, she unexpectedly ends up helping

him solve a tricky case that has stumped his colleagues. As a result, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis becoming a detective again and Max staying out of

jail. The catch? They must work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes

and generally befriending everyone in sight while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. The two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners. While

new episodes of the first season will be made available on a weekly basis for UK viewers, fans should expect a second season which finished airing in the US recently. The show as also

renewed for a third and fourth season set to release in the future. Despite originally airing in its native Canada back in 2024, only half a dozen professional reviews have been collated for

the show on website Rotten Tomatoes. However, they have meant the series holds a perfect 100% rating. It seems the show's easy viewing and leading stars is a winning combination.

Giacomo Gianniotti and Vanessa Morgan play the roles of Ellis and Max respectively. Gianniotti has previously appeared in Grey's Anatomy and Murdoch Mysteries. Meanwhile Morgan is known

for roles in Riverdale and Finding Carter. One critic claimed: "Wild Cards is a light, airy show to watch if you don’t want to think too hard." Another added: " It's not

their diverging approaches to crime-solving that will keep audiences coming back each week, but instead the chemistry between the leads, which is by far the strongest part of the

show." Many fans shared a similar view, with one posting online: "Wild cards quickly became my most favourite show on television. Ellis and Max just work so well together in spite

of themselves! We need more television like this!" Someone else said: "Wild Cards is a charming crime comedy that's perfect for unwinding. It follows an unlikely duo: a

by-the-books detective and a charismatic con artist. Their forced partnership leads to hilarious banter and creative crime-solving methods. While the plot isn't groundbreaking, the

show's strength lies in its characters and their undeniable chemistry. If you're a fan of shows like Psych or White Collar, Wild Cards is definitely worth checking out." While

one viewer commented: "I watch TV to be entertained, and Wild Cards hits the mark in every way. Good plots, Vanessa Morgan is KILLING it 360 as a criminal and a cute smartass. A lot is

somewhat 'canned' ie: angry police boss, demoted cop etc. but Max keeps the rhetoric and the action going (literally!!) Fun to watch and sit back and enjoy. One person agreed:

"It's great. The right amount of drama, thriller and comedy all rolled into one. Great actors I hadn't really heard about but I reckon they are an excellent cast . I'd

recommend this show definitely." _WILD CARDS IS STREAMING ON PARAMOUNT+._
