Fans of HBO's Big Little Lies can't miss a brand new series coming to BBC iPlayer. The twisty series is adapted from Australian author Liane Moriarty's 2005 novel of the same
name and promises to be every bit as engrossing as the Emmy-winning Big Little Lies. The drama follows the unsolved disappearance of the Munro family, who were last seen alive on an island.
The Last Anniversary will be set in motion after a woman with a tumultuous love life inherits a house on the island and is determined to find out what happened to the Munros. She will
encounter the various inhabitants of the island, who are harbouring their own dark secrets, in her pursuit of the truth. Starring A Discovery of Witches actress Teresa Palmer, veteran
British star Miranda Richardson, Danielle Macdonald of The Tourist fame, Helen Thomson, Susan Prior and Claude Scott-Mitchell, The Last Anniversary is led by a female powerhouse of stars.
Other cast members include Charlie Garber, Uli Latukefu, Jeremy Lindsay Taylor, Angela Punch McGregor, Samuel, Leon Ford and Ines English. Hollywood star and Big Little Lies actress Nicole
Kidman serves as an executive producer on The Last Anniversary, so fans can expect a captivating ride. Interestingly, author Moriarty insisted on The Last Anniversary being shot in Australia
where the book was set rather than moving it to a different location like Big Little Lies, which was moved from Sydney to California. Six-part series The Last Anniversary aired in its
native Australia back in April and in the USA on AMC. But finally, the show is coming to British screens as a boxset on BBC iPlayer. Viewers have served up their thoughts on The Last
Anniversary with the show having an 88 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Taking to Rotten Tomatoes, one fan wrote: "Excellent show. Im really enjoying it [sic]." As a second
noted: "Sitting here absolutely crying my eyes out because this show is a masterpiece." A third wrote on Google: "I did not read the book. I loved the storytelling and the
characters. "I loved that there was twisty drama. Just what I needed. I found it compelling and engaging." A fourth posted on Google about the casting: “Nicole K. may have backed a
winner here. The ‘star power’ draw for me is Miranda Richardson & Teresa Palmer, I can’t see any of the others setting the grass alight. “Miranda in many shows but ‘A Dance to the Music
of Time’ is close to the top and, besides being an Adelaide Hills local, Teresa’s turn in ‘A Discovery of Witches’ was a winner [sic].” Someone else added: “I loved this short series!
Watched the whole thing in one day! Great show for mothers and daughters!” _THE LAST ANNIVERSARY IS STREAMING ON THE BBC IPLAYER NOW_
