_*WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MILD SPOILERS FOR FEAR STREET: PROM QUEEN.*_ David Iacono, known for his role in The Summer I Turned Pretty, has taken on a character in a Netflix film

that's a far cry from his part in the popular teen drama. Iacono first appeared as the minor character Cam Cameron in the first series of the hit Prime Video show, and his role expanded

in the second series, much to fans' delight. His character briefly romanced the lead character Belly (Lola Tung), but ultimately failed to capture her heart. While viewers eagerly

await the new series of the teen romance, they can now watch Iacono's latest film. However, we must caution fans that his character in this thriller is not as endearing as Cam Cameron.

Fear Street: Prom Queen, the newest instalment in Netflix's Fear Street slasher franchise, was released today (May 23). The plot is based on the acclaimed book series by author R. L.

Stine, and follows a group of teenagers residing in the fictional town of Shadyside, reports the Mirror US. As the 1988 senior prom at Shadyside High approaches, the school's popular

girls all vie for the title. However, when underdog Lori Granger (India Fowler) also throws her hat into the ring, it stirs up a frenzy among her classmates. The tension escalates further

when the other contenders start disappearing, leaving Lori terrified that she might be next. Iacono takes on the role of Tyler Torres, Tiffany Falconer's boyfriend — played by Fina

Strazza — and also Lori's childhood sweetheart. At 23 years old, Iacono exudes an on-screen charisma in this part, but his character's actions raise a few questions. Tyler engages

in secret rendezvous with Lori throughout the movie and decides to end things with Tiffany on prom night. Despite being initially thrilling for the protagonist, Tyler promptly after ending

his relationship, makes a stirring decision to dance with Lori in front of a heartbroken Tiffany. Moreover, he later pulls Lori to one side for a candid chat, during which he belittles her

close friend Megan by saying: "I know you guys are really good friends, but I just feel like she's gonna keep holding you back." And, as Lori attempts to excuse herself due to

the uneasy nature of their exchange, Tyler holds her back, pressing her to stay. "I thought you wanted more than stolen glances," he insists. While initially framed as Lori's

dreamy suitor in this high-stakes drama, the audience's views on Tyler might be divided by the film's conclusion. We suspect that most viewers will find Tyler less appealing,

compared to the much-adored Cam Cameron. _FEAR STREET: PROM QUEEN IS STREAMING NOW ON NETFLIX_
