Emergency services were called after "explosions" were heard late at night in Horley on Tuesday, May 20. Fire crews and police arrived at Cranbourne Close after 10.20pm, following
reports of explosions, thought to have been caused by a power surge. One person was injured at the scene and sustained minor burns. They were treated by an ambulance at the scene. A power
outage was subsequently reported in the Horley area, from around 10pm, UK Power Networks restored the supply in the early hours of the morning. A Surrey Police spokesperson said: "We
were called to Cranbourne Close, Horley at around 10.20pm this evening (20 May) after reports of an explosion thought to be caused by a power surge. "Police attended in support of the
fire and rescue service. One person sustained minor burns and was assisted at the scene by an ambulance crew. UK Power Networks is working to resolve a subsequent power outage affecting
