MATERNAL AND SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH SITUATION IN TANZANIA This helpdesk report examines the maternal and sexual reproductive health situation in Tanzania CONTENTS * Abstract * Citation *

Link ABSTRACT This helpdesk report examines the maternal and sexual reproductive health situation in Tanzania. Maternal mortality in Tanzania has not benefited from similar trends as that

of child mortality rates, which have decreased greatly in recent years. Sexual and reproductive health (SRH) is also challenging, especially for adolescents. The majority of data available

includes interventions for maternal and newborn/child health. However, this review focused on reproductive and maternal health interventions. Due to the current pandemic, the effect of

COVID-19 on RMNCAH services is also addressed. Key points highlighted in this abstract are main maternal health interventions, SRH programmes, key donors, gaps in the provision of maternal

and sexual reproductive health services, the impact of COVID-19 on SRHR provision and SRHR gaps during COVID19 in Tanzania. This report was prepared for the UK Government’s Foreign,

Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and its partners in support of pro-poor programmes CITATION Tull, K. (2020). Maternal and sexual reproductive health situation in Tanzania. K4D
