The government has drawn serious flak from the residents of Budhal after it dismantled the kitchen of Government High School, Budhal, within a year of construction, in a bid to pave way for
the construction of a new building. “Today’s era is of vertical construction. Instead of dismantling the recently constructed kitchen, the concerned department should have constructed the
new structure on top of the already present one,” local youth leader, Wagar Lone, said, adding, “Vertical construction would have helped in saving open space, which could be utilized as a
playground for the students.” The locals said, “The government spent lakhs of rupees from the state exchequer in constructing the kitchen. Not even a year has passed and the building has
been dismantled. Why are they hell bent on wasting funds?” Pertinently, the locals also called on chief education officer, Rajouri, when the officer was visiting the area on Monday. “We
informed the CEO about the issue and he assured to look into it,” they said. The locals urged upon the governor’s administration to look into the issue and order an in-depth probe. On being
contacted, chief education officer, Rajouri, Mohammad Ashraf Rather, assured to look into the issue and said that an inquiry will be ordered to probe the reason behind the dismantling of the
recently constructed kitchen. Additional deputy commissioner Kotranka, Ved Parkash, on being contacted, said to have no knowledge about the issue.
