Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has been out on loan for the season so far. Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has told the Grimsby Telegraph that he plans to speak to Jack Ross

about his future at the Stadium of Light. Embleton has been loaned out by Sunderland to Grimsby, where he has played regularly and impressed. The Black Cats, meanwhile, have made good

progress in League One, and it is unlikely that Ross will be wanting to make major changes in January. With Embleton’s loan due to expire at the start of 2019, there are now question marks

over where his future lies. And the 19-year-old admits that he plans to sit down and chat with Ross about his future. “I’ve still got to have a meeting with my manager at Sunderland and we

will take it from there,” he said. “I came here for game-time and I’ve loved it. Now that I’m in the team, creating and scoring goals I love it even more. “If I do come back I would have no

problems with that.” MORE SUNDERLAND STORIES If Embleton does return to Sunderland then his task of breaking into their starting line-up could be tough. Ross’ side are currently sat in third

place in the League One table, and are right in the thick of a promotion battle. Grimsby, on the other hand, are sat in 18th place in League Two, just six points above the drop zone.
