Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has claimed to Sky Sports that that they Tottenham Hotspur would give them the ball back, if they put pressure on in the right areas. Tottenham lost 2-0 to
Leicester yesterday, with Vardy getting on the scoresheet from the penalty spot. Spurs struggled to break down Leicester’s defence for the entire game, with the threat of Harry Kane and
Heung-Min Son nullified. And Vardy says that his Leicester side knew that Tottenham would give them the ball back, if they pressed as they got over half way. “We’ve come here with a gameplan
and we’ve absolutely nailed what we wanted to do. It’s set us on the way to get the three points that we think we deserved,” Vardy said. “We wanted to get about them, we didn’t want to give
them much time but we knew we could let them bring it in their first third. “As soon as they got towards the halfway line, we knew we could put the press on, get the ball back, keep it,
find the spaces and create some chances.” For Leicester’s system to be so effective has to be a concern for Spurs, whose form has dipped in recent weeks. MORE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STORIES
