THE 68-YEAR-OLD IPS OFFICER FROM THE 1981 BATCH WAS A NATIVE OF CHAMPARAN IN BIHAR AND HELD AN MSC IN GEOLOGY. Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was


found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence in HSR Layout in Bengaluru on Sunday, said police. As per the police sources, he was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife.  On


Sunday afternoon, the body, found with injuries, was discovered lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor of his three-storied house in the upscale HSR Layout. Prakash's spouse,


Pallavi, informed police about the incident.  WIFE SUSPECTED OF MURDER Upon investigation, it was confirmed that Prakash had been murdered. The murder has been confirmed, but the identity of


the killer is still under investigation. At present, the wife is the primary suspect. Police suspect his wife's involvement, as both she and their daughter were present in the living


room at the time. According to police sources, it was the wife who initially called the police to report the murder. However, when the police team arrived at their residence, she refused to


open the door, raising further suspicion. According to the sources, he intended to transfer all his properties to his son, a decision that reportedly did not sit well with his wife. POLICE


TEAM HAS REACHED AND IS INVESTIGATING Senior police officials rushed to the spot upon receiving the information. The body of the retired DGP has been shifted to St John's Hospital for


postmortem. After the postmortem, the body will be handed over to the family tomorrow morning.  Police have begun questioning Prakash's wife, Pallavi, regarding the incident. Further


investigation is underway. Om Prakash, a 1981-batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre, served as the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DGP and IGP) in 2015 until his
