Capistrano is believed to be one of the few other high schools in Southern California with a Myrtha pool that has coated stainless steel instead of concrete. The cost for Harvard-Westlake’s
new pool complex is more than $5 million and includes a pool house, locker facilities and stands. It is scheduled to be completed in August. The pool is supposed to be able to hold up in
earthquakes _ well, except for a really big one. It’s state of the art, second-generation technology, according to Audrius Barzdukas, the head of school. The complex will be known as the
Copses family pool. Taking a dip in that pool will be the highlight of somebody’s day. -- Eric Sondheimer
